The best bike light you can buy

This bike light is very good. It has four different settings and is very bright. If you want the light to last longer you can turn it down to the lowest level. It is very affordable and has excellent features. I like the green bar above the gauge that shows how much battery is left. This is a great light for the price. I have had many flashlights over the years but this is the best.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • New competitors are here

very disappointed. I also had problems w 1200

brand new out of the box. First I charge the battery. the battery indicator does not work. I already had 1200 and know w from. when fully charged blue. if not red. Nada. Yes, I have tried different sockets in the house. very disappointed. I also had problems with the W 1200. My first niterrider, the older and not as powerful version of the 1200, worked very well until I stopped charging it. I will try again with the nireader. I researched the internet and it turned out that there is no better…

Well done! Good Quality

I have purchased many items from NiteRider over the years and have always been delighted with their products. The quality is always there. They are a bit expensive but the product speaks for itself. I use this particular headlight on my mountain bike. I actually have a different model (dual headlight) on my street bike (3600). Excellent beam coverage. I even get high beam from cars if it's misaligned. Very very bright. Yes I've bought other cheaper flashlights (not NiteRider) but the quality…

Really good sports light

I've waited 5 months to review this light and all I can say is how great it is to have good light when driving. I use this light sparingly ie I use it a few times a week when it rains and even now that winter has come it does get a bit dark after hours and this light hasn't hurt me. (I've only charged it once since I've had it. The high beams would need charging more often.) I only used it on low settings because other settings would literally blind the driver out of the way. It has a long…

Amazing Sports Headlight

I think NiteRider has discontinued this flashlight and it's a shame but I'm glad some retailers still have it in stock. This thing is HELL, you can't escape it. The new NiteRider products aren't as cool as they are and I love how they look when installed on my bike. I've had NiteRiders xenon lights in the past that used the same frame mounted battery. I liked these lights too, but I've learned to be gentle with the cords and the way they connect. Cable housing and the light no longer works…

  • All right!

Stopped working after 35 uses

This lamp stopped working after about 35 uses (40 minutes average per use). I use it for trail riding and it can really scare you when all of a sudden the lights SEEM to go out. The battery is 4 bars, and I hold my hand to the flashlight and see the reflected light, but it sort of randomly chooses to transition to "going next to the bike" 100 lumens. 100 lumens is dangerous at best, like brake failure when going downhill. I've been a NiteRider fan ever since the little acid batteries dangled…

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs

I understand that HP says the battery only lasts 2 hours at max output (1400 lumens). It's my fault for not understanding the effects of just 2 hours. I bought the NR lamp based on the advertised quality and overall good reviews. Yesterday I used my flashlight for the first time by jumping from a cheap high wattage (1000 lumens) bike light. I was left in the dark mid-trail, luckily with a good old cheap (and now very reliable) flashlight in my helmet. This isn't a 5 star rating as I didn't buy…

Pros
  • Stable results when tested
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
