👄 NIVEA Moisture Lip Care - Intensively Moisturizing Balm with Shea Butter & Jojoba Oil - 0.17 oz (Pack of 6) Review

My husband has always been picky about lip balm. He never focused on one form. A few years ago he was in the hospital after surgery and was in dire need of lip balm. When we pointed this out to the nurse, she brought him NIVEA lip care. Since then my husband has used it exclusively. We've ordered a 5 pack several times to make sure he has at least 1 new tube if he runs out of the one he's using. We've since tried NIVEO's therapeutic lip balm and he loves it too.

The original product had a lower melting point so it was very smooth and moisturizing like a cream but had a soft sheen that didn't feel like shine. After it was washed off my lips felt more hydrated for a long time like we have fresh and healthy skin. This new material is more waxy and appears to be trying to repel moisture as a water barrier. The downside is that once it's removed, the lips don't feel moisturized or nourished.

update. My review was hidden due to "confidential content". I wouldn't order this unless you plan to gamble on a $16 lip balm. Love the product except I ordered 6 and only received 1! I read other reviews that said they only received 1 lipstick but I thought it was an accident but now I've found that it wasn't.

I didn't have high hopes as I usually only use petroleum jelly or cocoa butter. I try to avoid anything that comes in the form of lip balm as I don't think it usually has the same moisturizing power. I've been using it for many years and singing the praises of it. Revane tells me I've bought a 6 pack over 30 times! But Nivea quietly stood up and changed the formula (and the name – now it's called Hydration instead of Moisture Kiss) and I absolutely hate the new version. I'm looking for another one right now. It was recommended by a good friend of mine when he was talking about taking medications that dry out our skin, including our lips.
