Great for wildlife feeders

I use this to house a small 6v lead acid battery that powers the spinning plate on the wildlife feeder. It's in the weather but in a wire cage under the feeder. It's definitely not waterproof for something like an ATV, but in a stationary environment like a feeder, it keeps the battery and cables dry. There is room to easily route wiring up and out the sides of the cover. Very good for this application.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Keep Calm

Snap Top doesn't snap, but it's inexpensive.

The clasp was broken on one side when received. The broken piece of plastic wasn't in the shipping container so it didn't happen during shipping. As a result, the lid does not hold. I needed it but there wasn't time to swap it out before the trip. I fixed it with a strap and anchors. Although the battery case has been a bit broken since I received it, it doesn't affect how I use it.

  • Weight

Use them to connect Christmas lights

Someone else wrote a review about using Christmas lights and that's exactly what I use some of them for. I spread them all over the yard and plugged the plugs into several sockets. There are four holes under the cover, two on each side, which is ideal for running both thin and thick wires up and down. A much cheaper solution than specialty products to keep forks dry. After the last heavy rains not an ounce of water got into it. Thanks to the previous reviewer for the great tip!

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Out of style

Suitable for mobile use by radio amateurs

I bought a Duracell DURA12-35C AGM battery (about 8 x 7 x 6 inches) to help some higher current radios during power outages or just for that quieter DC operation. I needed a storage box to protect against accidental shorts at the battery terminals as this battery can arc weld if shorted. I've only found one Noco drawer that fits this "U1" size, but the snap lid is what I really need. needed: something that usually protects the terminals, but also tends to come loose easily. Suitable for portable ham radios

I bought a Duracell DURA12-35C AGM battery (approx. higher amperage for radios, either during power outages or even just for quieter DC operation. However, I needed a storage box to protect against accidental short circuits at the battery terminals, as this battery could arc weld in the event of a short circuit. What I needed urgently: something that would normally protect the terminals, but would be removed quickly. Although the cover is large it has room for some of the main fuses and a small

Fits Miata NA battery well

Recently purchased from a friend, a 1993 Miata had nothing with a battery to do except cables. The clamp and battery were easy to access, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of looking for the original battery compartment. I didn't need a lid for my application. I installed some of the battery pad material I had laying around into the grooves around the crisscross pattern on the bottom. Needless, but I've had stuff. I placed a small strip of flimsy rubber inside the car under where theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Has patented latches to securely attach cover to base and reinforced handles to prevent tearing when moving
Cons
  • thin

Part of me wanted to dock the start, because it didn't meet "my" specific needs, but overall it's a pretty good product. NOCO makes some pretty good stuff and I got my hands on this and a Gruppe 24 box for my project and the quality seemed better than the other options. U1 batteries fit snugly in this box, with little room to maneuver inside. I use a 35Ah U1 battery from Harbor Freight. I bought the box for a 12v car fridge project where I don't have outlets that are always on for it to work. I
