Had to return, didn't fit

Didn't fit my dual GPS receiver because the nozzle is too wide. Would like to buy something from you guys if you have an antenna with a smaller diameter mounting point. The actual fork part is fine, but the plastic around the fork is too wide.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Operates normally, prone to damage

Use between multiple aircraft. After a few weeks the antenna caught on something and bent 90 degrees, folding it back onto the loop the wire inside broke. Replace the antenna and loop of superglue to keep the antennas straight. Good signal reception. Too bad someone didn't make a high-performance rubberized antenna directly.

Pros
  • Very good value for money

I think they're ok but LOL in "High Gain "

Frustrating when connecting to a normal dump1090 instance. They worked well for Stratux. But their marketing claims of "high utility" are dubious. I have **much** more contacts with a simple 69mm quarter-wave pin on a small magnetic mount that sits on top of a piece of metal that serves as a ground plane. Save money. If you have an extra antenna/mount from a cheap Freeview adapter, cut the standard antenna down to 69mm and attach this magnetic mount to a coffee can lid (or metal at least 69mm…

Bad antenna 1090: accessories and consumables

Finally got around to testing them with a spectrum analyzer, signal generator and a 20dB bidirectional coupler. The 978MHz antenna has an SWR of approximately 1.2 at 978MHz. The 1090MHz antenna reflects 100% of the power at 1090MHz indicating an open circuit. I have checked that it is not shorted. Its return loss is a flat line at -20dBm (0dBm output - 20dB coupler loss) at any frequency within 200MHz of 1090MHz.

Pros
  • Compatible with any SDR with SMA or MCX input
Cons
  • Very expensive

Works well as a "launch" antenna on my FlightAware joystick. Fairly stable received a range of 50-60 miles. I came across a thread about adding the bottom of a soda can as a base layer and decided to give it a try. As soon as I did; I've traveled over 100 miles; couldn't believe the difference. Looks silly with a can of soda, but it works.

Pros
  • Ideal for embedded, portable or terrestrial ADS-B applications where weight, size and range are important.
Cons
  • Has been corrupted.

Works as advertised

1090MHz antenna works great. I can't place anything outside due to restrictions, so I'm limited as to what I can place in the window due to the metal and foil on the outside wall. With the compromise antenna (2m/440 rubber clamp) I got good results at 50 miles and fuzzy results at 100 miles. With this antenna I get consistent results out to 100 miles and then fuzzy results out to 150 miles. Two weeks later I can say that the number of planes I see each day has doubled and I'm getting five times

Pros
  • Kit includes 1090MHz SMA antenna, 978MHz SMA antenna and 2 MCX SMA pigtail cables (male to female)
Cons
  • Big and bulky
