Amazing little tool with endless possibilities

So much bandwidth, all kinds of decoding, tuning and demodulation software for <$25? "Before" something that could do this would cost you thousands of dollars. What initially interested me was getting image data from NOAA satellites etc (I have yet to build a QRP antenna). What attracted me is anything else you can do with it. Update: I built several different antennas for it and got a plus for it. A lot of fun. I've added some NOAA satellite imagery that I recently received from NOAA 19, 18

Some quality control issues but great customer service

I have bought several. Unfortunately I was sent a unit that was DOA but they replaced it immediately so thanks to them for the great customer service. Then I ran it through some tests and noticed a few things. It was more sensitive than the RTL-SDR v3 on almost all bands and I was very impressed. until I reached 770MHz. There is a point in the upper part of the 700MHz band where there are many trunked systems that this device is simply deaf to. The device outperformed the RTL-SDR V3 in everyโ€ฆ

  • Good product for the price

Very inexpensive Software Defined Scanner Radio

First of all, I've been a radio amateur since the 80s and have a top class (highest) rating. I was looking for a very portable scanner that I could take on a trip to listen to frequencies from airlines (even private pilots) that wouldn't take up much space in my full under seat bag and wouldn't look suspicious at the airport. like a normal scanner. The good news is that it works, the bad news is that there are some limitations. The idea of sticking a small antenna on it and connecting it to aโ€ฆ

  • I don't really have any bad feelings about it, everything is fine

Great little trunk tracking radio

I have used the UniTrunker software with a cheaper receiver with RTL2832U and R820T tuners. It worked, but the drift corrections were huge, the receiver was slightly overloaded, and the sensitivity/selectivity was not up to scratch. This little NooElec receiver basically fixes all of those problems for just a few bucks. Because it uses the same receiver and tuner, it was an easy replacement for my other receiver. He took off and immediately got to work. I am monitoring a VHF P25 trunked systemโ€ฆ

Pros
  • External TV tuners
Cons
  • Not sure

Works very well but poor USB design causes frequent shutdowns

I am using the NESDR as a pan adapter with a Yaesu FT450D ham radio transceiver. I installed the first IF buffer board and backplane connector on the FT450D. When connected to this dongle via the HDSDR software, this allows the HDSDR software to display a broadband view around the tuned frequency on the transceiver. The device is very suitable for this. The temperature-compensated TXCO improves frequency stability compared to the cheaper base unit. This ensures that the frequency displayed onโ€ฆ
