🍎 Red Norpro Apple Mate 2 Apple Peeler for Efficient Peeling Review

Easy enough for my 5 year old to ride alone! Facilitates a quick processing of apples or a quick snack. Also easy to rinse and clean, no super sharp parts.

I bought this peeler a while ago hoping to peel a lot of apples faster. I am disappointed with the results. The peeler only worked on the first half of the apple, then stopped peeling the apple and removed the core before the second half was peeled. Also, it doesn't peel large apples. Save your money, don't buy this bowl!

Holds very securely. It is excellent for removing the core from apples, but for peeling apples such as B. delicious red apples, which are rather square at the bottom, very bad. A peeler works MUCH better on rounder items like Macintosh apples or symmetrical items like red potatoes. I would happily buy a separate grain and cleaner as for the price I expected both functions to work well in this unit.

I read many reviews of these things before buying them and many of them were negative. I make applesauce for the whole family once a week and I'm tired of peeling and slicing apples and trying not to cut myself. This contraption is fiddly - it needs constant adjustment and is a bit weak in terms of quality, but still better than peeling and slicing by hand.

Ordered for my wife almost two years ago. I don't know how many apple pies she made in that time, but I think a dozen or less. The handle of the clamp broke the last time I used it and today I had to use pliers to tighten the clamp. The frame broke in half. It's all cheap cast iron and beyond repair, so it's junk now. The owner's manual has contact information for replacing other small parts, which would be nice if the frame was durable, but unfortunately it isn't. I'm writing this review in…
