Lining prevents the jacket from sticking to the skin. It's only a shell but I went up a size so I can wear a layer or two in cold weather. The color hides all the dirt on the playground, so that's a plus.

Great for a skinny 5 year old! Keeps you dry in heavy mountain rain and wet hikes. Lightweight and great rain protection. The hood covers the face well and underneath there is enough space for a beanie or hat. The perfect layered raincoat!

I love this jacket. My daughter is 40 pounds and has room to grow. Perfect. She has no lining so only on not so cold days when it rains but we didn't want her to sit in a raincoat we have a lining so just what we wanted.

I'm an adult but bought these because I'm small - 5ft 2in, 105lbs and similar adult jackets were more expensive than the youth version. I love that it doesn't look youthful and is still trendy no matter how old it is. The quality is the same too. I chose size L 14-16 and I think it fits great - not too big or too tight.

Fits true to size but no velcro on hood or drawstrings, hood kept falling on my head blocking my view what the Driving and walking in rainy weather made it very difficult, not to mention it's just VERY annoying. Definitely waterproof but the lack of a working hood makes it impossible for me to have a rain cover so I returned the item which was quick and easy.

Beautiful waterproof jacket. Bought this along with a Columbia raincoat for my picky 10 year old. She preferred this to another. She has sensory issues and said it was very enjoyable while the other felt itchy. We had to check the water resistance today as it has been playing in the rain all morning.
