Description of Norton Abrasives Aluminum Combination Benchstone

A convenient combination of coarse and fine grit sides of India aluminum oxide abrasive. Coarse grit surface creates keen edges and fine grit surface produces long lasting edges. Sharpening oil enhances the sharpening action and minimizes the clogging of the stones' surface. Ideal for clean deburring, generating keen edges and quality finishes. Orange/brown colors.

Great!: Power & Hand Tools

This stone was recommended by Wranglerstar on their YT channel. I bought one and use mineral oil as a lubricant. This sped up the work of sharpening my axe. I look forward to using it in other tools.

Pros
  • Coarse grit finish creates sharp edges while fine grit finish provides durable edges.
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Norton - the best for power and hand tools

Not as flat as it used to be, but still very good. You'll need to sharpen them for precision work, but Norton goes above and beyond. Get a fair price and fast delivery. Now my shop is updated again and the customers will be happy.

Pros
  • Convenient combination of coarse and fine Indian Aluminum Oxide abrasives.
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank

It's really very good.

Okay, I don't normally write reviews but this stone really packs a punch. I use it specifically for axes and for the first time I was able to sharpen goosebumps with this stone. I just bought an old plumb bob with two 3.5 pound blades, beveled it sharper with a file, filed it (with some petroleum for oil) in a circular motion, sanded it with green compound on the leather, and it's done as sharp as I could want. A few things to note: 1. I wish it had something to store it even if it was just in…

Pros
  • orange/brown.
Cons
  • Only available in black
