Description of πŸ”ͺ Norton Economy Abrasive Sharpener Combination: Enhance Precision and Efficiency

Combination oilstone has 100 grit on one face for repairing steel cutting edges and 320 grit on the opposite face for sharpening and maintaining them. Aluminum oxide produces durable, smooth-cutting edges, and is preferred for close tolerances. 3/4 x 6 x 2 inch (H x W x D) size makes this stone suitable for use as a bench sharpener for flat-bladed tools, household utensils, and knives. Compact for easy portability. Oilstone is more durable and harder than a waterstone.

Descending sharpening stone

I would like to give it three stars. in addition to the cheap price. good for edge forming. very coarse sand, but not very hard. two corners already broken

Pros
  • Combination oil stone with 100 grit on one side for repairing steel edges and 320 grit on the opposite side for sharpening and conditioning
Cons
  • Very expensive

Small and agile, ideal for kitchen knives in combination with 1000, 4000 and 8000. 100 is much better at removing material than 200 - use 200 for a blunt beginning knife ware slow and terrible. The only thing wrong with it is that the grit isn't labeled, but unless you forget it's 100/300, it's not exactly a mystery as to what it is. This is the perfect gift for boys.

Pros
  • Oilstone is stronger and harder than Waterstone
Cons
  • I will add later

Grinding defects Suitable for mechanical and hand tools

This is an economical hand oil stone for rough work and rough tools. This is not for fine woodworking. I bought it to use with a set of Marples chisels in an emergency. This is a combo stone with two grits marked only "Course" and "Fine". The material of the stone is not specified on the packaging and the groats are not marked. Of course, after trying on the nails, I identified the brown side, but that's not how it should be. Norton must determine the grain and its composition; Unfortunately…

Pros
  • Compact for easy transport
Cons
  • Expensive
