Silicon carbide is more aggressive and cuts faster than aluminum oxide. Paper backing is flexible, and offers a more consistent finish than cloth or fiber. Full resin bonding system for increased strength and durability. Closed coat for a higher-quality finish than an open-coat sheet. Waterproof for use wet, oiled, or dry surfaces. For sanding and leveling final top coats prior to compounding. Designed for wet or dry sanding to generate super smooth finishes. Can be used wet or dry, with water, oil or other lubricants.

Good for sanding metal

I needed to sand flat marks on a metal (steel) surface and they did the job. Just run a few classes from 200 to 800 from low to high and soon I was left with a tired sore hand and a slick finish.

Good material for parts and accessories Power Sander

One of my favorite sandpapers. through paper and money unnecessary. Also, stop every minute or so and rent expensive stuff, but one piece can make a world of difference if used properly.

False Product Ads Power Finishing Tool Parts & Accessories

I bought 25 packs of Norton 600 grit Wet/Dry Sandpaper, advertised by MaxWarehouse as "Silicon Carbide" sandpaper. However, nowhere on Norton's packaging is silicon carbide mentioned. The packaging only says "extremely hard abrasive". I have to believe it would be if the paper was coated with silicon carbide as silicon carbide is probably the highest quality abrasive available for sandpaper and offers a superior finish and durability compared to alternatives. It's unlikely the sandpaper…
