Definitely served the purpose - my cat put a paw on it and hasn't touched the wooden frame of the bed since. It's easy to apply but strong enough on hard surfaces to chip paint and mark wood. Hopefully this will break the cat scratch so I can eventually remove it completely if I get stuck in it when I get up. This would probably be great on fabric surfaces, but my cat loves to scratch wood, so he's not needed for that.

My cats think my couch is one giant scratching post so after some research I decided to give it a try. In other words, I love and hate them. That was exactly my goal. It's easy to apply and holds up well. Cats hate the sticky feeling and immediately stop their nasty attempts to scratch my sofa back. Haven't tried removing it yet so can't comment on ease. But so far I'm very satisfied. I will definitely take it with me when I buy new furniture. :)

This is a good product and works as expected. I like that it's wide so I can place it on my couch in horizontal stripes so my cat doesn't scratch. My cats like to lick and bite a smaller, vertical band. You can't remove this tape because of its width and because I lay it horizontally instead. I can easily remove and replace if necessary. It's difficult to get the white backing off, but if you bend the corner before sticking it to the furniture, that corner will come off a little more easily. My
