This is 24 AWG wire. It is grey. Nothing more to say? It untangles fairly easily so I had to drill a hole in the spool to secure the wire between uses (hence 4 stars instead of 5). A notch in the plastic, like on spools of thread, would be a good way to fix this.

I use this cable for a variety of audio projects - amp conversions, pedals and preamps - and it works great. The beauty of this particular wire is that the insulation is very flexible - you can bend it and it will hold its shape, making it really fun to work with!
