Description of NuLOOM Multicolor Thomas Flatweave Octopus

100% Cotton, made in India. Crafted with love and care, hand made rugs carry the spirit of the artisans that made them. Each piece is marked by subtle but individual differences that make your rug unique. Refreshingly lightweight cotton rugs are perfect for dining room, living room, kitchen, entryway, bedrooms, and best when sheltered from direct sunlight. We recommend pairing with a nuLOOM non-slip rug pad. Handmade rugs should be treated more carefully than machine-made rugs, vacuum regularly (without a beater bar) to reduce potential shedding and spot clean stains by blotting gently with a clean white cloth.

Darker than pictured

I made the mistake of purchasing the mustard and blue accents based on the photos in the ad. I should have read the previous reviews as the colors are definitely a lot darker than pictured. Light blue is more turquoise and yellow is more Dijon/orange, almost brown. The rest appears to be a quality product. I wouldn't put it in my main living room just because the white would be difficult to clean.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Not as thick as the other options

Nice but heavy TAPESTRY

Originally purchased as a treadmill for the hallway but the quality is not that of a normal indoor carpet. It's pretty rough and thin. I don't feel comfortable using it as a rug as I think it will be difficult to clean and will wear out easily due to its thinness. I decided to hang it but it's too heavy to use as a tapestry. I wouldn't recommend using it as a mat, but if necessary, definitely don't use it in high traffic areas.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Non-Automatic

Great quality for the price! UPDATE - TENANTS BEWARE

This is so cute and such a great deal! It is a thin material, similar to canvas. I didn't notice any strange smell like in some reviews. It works great as a rug and also looks pretty on the wall. TO UPDATE. He stained our carpet! The stamp on the back has been transferred to our carpets. We've already tried to pull it out, but to no avail. Luckily we are planning to replace our carpet anyway, but if you rent or have a light carpet this could be a disaster.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Minority

Beautiful carpet! Want to get another!

Packed tightly in polyethylene and cardboard. It smells like factory paint but I'm sure it will fade over time. It has a few imperfections where the paint didn't stick to the material, but that doesn't bother me. Great as a treadmill in the hallway or at the foot of the bed for a pop of colour. I placed it on a light colored rug in the hallway of my bedroom. There it hardly moves, so that it does not have to be lined with carpet tape. It's beautiful, makes me happy and Thomas Paul's squid art…

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Very expensive

Worst smell! - Home accessories

I ordered this rug and had it at my house and after about 20 minutes with the windows and fans on I couldn't stand the stench. I put it outside on my covered back deck hoping it could air out. The next day I went there again to work in the yard and I couldn't even be near me. Everyone who came (my mom and dad, my sister and my roommate) was shocked at how bad my back patio stinks. After avoiding my back deck for several days, I finally gave in and put it back in the box. I liked this rug so…

Pros
  • It's all right!
Cons
  • It's OK
