The base was too rounded for the edge to fit snugly on the board making sewing difficult I figured it out after some use but even after a few days I had some staples splitting the tongue a bit. Also, it came with a 3/4" and 5/8" base, but I needed a 1/2" base which turned out to be too long. Next time I'd go with 1 1/2". Overall it worked pretty well though! I don't know what "thickness" means in the star rating section.

Great tool, great price!

I bought it to lay new parquet floors in one half of the apartment of almost 500 square meters. ft. I bought it because I only have a few hours a day to work on the floors and it would be a lot more expensive to rent from one of the big stores a few days in a row. This nailer has almost 500 sqft installed. ft. Solid red oak 3/4" x 3 1/4" right out of the box with no problems. I used Bostitch staples for this job and there were no misfires, jams, or other issues. I kept my little compressor…

Great tool, highly recommend.

Does what it's supposed to do. I highly recommend getting the lightweight model as you will be using it for hours laying floors. I only had a few " Fails"." because I didn't swing the hammer with enough force. The momentum of the punch doesn't have to be very strong, after just a few hours of use you can settle down and swing easily, which is why the nail doesn't fully penetrate the hardwood. When this happened I took an electric sanding disc and cut off the exposed part of the nail (be careful
