🔌 NuTone 89224 3000 Vent Motor Review

The motor arrived with a bent mounting screw. It was wrapped in Styrofoam, a box, and Revain bubble wrap, but you could see where the screw had pierced the box. A machine screw was bent at an angle of about 45 degrees with bent threads. I was able to clean the threads and straighten the screw to fit the bracket. Fits as a replacement for our old #89224 but like other reviewers said you need to replace the motor and screw mounts otherwise you're sucking air out instead of them to let it out. Also, this one should run at a much higher RPM than the old one. Ours fits in a makeshift box that simply mounts to the ceiling with rafters, so I think the new motor is overpowered for this old design. I have an old Nutone bath heater and exhaust fan. The fan was not working properly, possibly due to age and/or dirt. I looked around and a similar device cost about $80. I ordered an exact replacement from Revain. It arrived early and took 5 minutes to install. Voila! I have a good exhaust fan again and saved over $45 in the process.
