Description of 🐾 Nutri-Vet Pad Guard Wax, 2 oz

Pad Guard Wax safeguards a dog’s paw from effects of gravel, asphalt, sand, hot pavement, ice, snow, salt and chemical treated roads and uneven, hard and slippery surfaces. Beeswax is a natural emulsifier that helps to seal and protect the skin, and Paraffin Wax helps pads grip slippery or smooth surfaces. Veterinary formulated. Good for all size dogs.

Spoiled paws! on boots and paw protectors

Ideal for rough dog paws! I have a dog so I don't know how she manages to get dry, rough paws. This works great no matter what's causing the scratchy foot pads.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Unsafe

Doesn't help pets slide on hardwood floors

Seems like a decent product once you get used to wet paws, but it didn't help at all in stopping our dog from sliding on our hardwood floors. This made the slip much worse.

This wax is really good dogs don't lick it

This wax is really good dogs don't lick it and they seem to walk on HOT Texas cement with no problem. . I put the jar on the coffee table and every time I see it I add a little something to my paws - no complaints.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons

Bigger than mushers. More like real wax than melting lotion.

Not as easy to apply as regular racing wax but I think it lasts a bit longer. When I use this type of paw protection product in hot weather, I feel like whatever I put on melts pretty quickly. Good for moisturizing before or after walking.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Not trendy

So-so on my dog's paws.

Nutri-vet is a fairly well-known company. This product was average quality for the road. I used this on my dog Nella for most of February and part of March as there was a snow plow in Chicago last winter. The wax worked on some walks, but after walking through an area with a lot of salt, Nella showed signs of discomfort. I would use this for short walks, but it might not be very efficient if you take regular/long walks.

Pros
  • Quality build
Cons
  • Speed

Super for difficult dogs

My dog will never wear dog boots or baby socks. She would rather limp and cry when trying to go outside. So I pessimistically tried this product and it worked great! It's a wax that acts like petroleum jelly, so I wear gloves to apply it, but it's not as sticky as jelly, doesn't slip on floors, and doesn't stain carpets. She walked the ice/snow without crying or limping and I swear she looked at me like she was saying "thank you".

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • piggy bank price

Better than Mushers Secret

Has a waxy texture. I pick up a wad on my fingers and rub it into the pads of my dog's paws. It's been below freezing lately, deep snow and too much salt and she's fine. I was missing a paw the other day and she started rearing it. We walk 3 km every day and she is fine. No splintering or tearing. I turn it on just before we go out. It seems thicker and works better than Mushers Secret, although it's easier to apply because it's thinner. But I'm sticking with Nutri-Vet.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

TERRIBLE! Best of Clothing and Accessories

This stuff should be my age. He's hard as a rock. Impossible to put it on my dog's paws. I CUT off a piece of the container to make it more flexible but it didn't work. I heated the jar hoping it would turn into a liquid. But that didn't happen. After an hour of working with it in my hand, the small amount I was able to put on his feet was just heavy and made him walk across the tiles like he was on skates. It didn't warm his insoles, soften them in any way, or help him walk on slippery…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Useless Features

I am very satisfied and will order again

I am very satisfied and will order again. After our boy started limping in the snow (which scared my husband half to death), we decided it was time to put our boots on. We spent $35 on a pair of boots because he wouldn't let us put them on. let's go back We had to try something because walking relaxes him and is good for his husband. So I took a risk and ordered this wax. We are very happy. I knead my paws in wax and no longer limp. I am in the process of backordering a new shipment. No more…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Easy to repair
