The flap shell retention mechanism is a small piece of plastic that is held on top. In my first week with minimal use these pieces broke off and wouldn't hold up. I would not recommend that.

The tab on these lids, which is supposed to keep the lid closed so the drink doesn't spill if tipped over, broke after the second use. So if you need to shake after sitting, make sure you keep the cap pressed. Extremely disappointed as I like having a secure lid and cap.

The hole in the lid you have to drink through is too small and if you are actually making a smoothie or cocktail or trying to drink something thicker or anything other than clear Liquid, it comes out slowly because the drinking hole is small and there is no vent. Good idea but bad design.

Although this product is easy to clean, it fits perfectly in cups and is made of decent material; He's missing a very important quality. Lid doesn't close! It was the first thing I checked when I first opened it. Unless you're on a moving sidewalk or in a floating car, I can almost guarantee the lid will pop open and spill your drink on the first impact.

I bought these to replace original lids that wouldn't close. However, they were worse than the original. Neither of them stayed close and opened up slightly. One of the parts of the clip broke pretty quickly. I don't believe them at all, not to flow. The threaded portion seems snug so I don't think that section is leaking or not when I'm drinking straight out of it. The flap design was bad from the start.
