and i'm almost disappointed she ever liked it

my cat just loves this brand. She was extremely picky about wet food and I was practically disappointed that she ever liked it. This time she meows and basically licks the plate clean. Portion just right! Looks great and smells great. After checking and reading about all the ingredients, this meal has my absolute approval. We only buy it in addition to the dry food that we give our cat. Makes us all so happy because our cat loves and asks for this food so much.

Difficult to open and smaller portion

This new plastic container design and cat food size is disappointing. As an elderly person with arthritic wrists, it is very difficult to detach portions from the "metallic" surface of the meal. I have to use needle nose pliers to grab the tongue and pry the top off the bottom. When a filling comes off, it often spits food onto my clothes. I learned to twist the container away from me, but it became even more difficult to open. Then I looked at the ingredients and realized that each flavor was…

My cat is no longer interested in this food

EDIT REVIEW: I had to switch to another brand. I don't know what happened, my cat used to really like this food but the last 2 boxes I bought left pieces and sometimes half of the food as if she didn't care anymore. I'm not sure if it's just my cat or if something has changed in the food, but she's not very picky, especially when it comes to wet food. She likes her new food much better and it doesn't contain guar gum either. Changed 5 stars to 3. Portions are very small but my cat ate both…

3 thumbs down for Nutro's new packaging

I'm very disappointed in Nutro for switching their packaging from recyclable flip top jars to eco-friendly non-recyclable plastic containers. Second problem: If you have arthritis with reduced strength in your dominant hand and thumb like I do and I'm sure a lot of cat owners/Female Baby Boomers have it, tubs are very difficult to open. It hurts to remove the vacuum foil. (I open roll-top jars with a nifty bottle/jar opener I bought from Revain.) Finally, the tubs are attached in pairs; each…

Expensive food in wasteful plastic containers

My four cats loved this food when it came in 3 ounce recyclable cans. Now, not only has Nutro greedily upped the price, but the food comes in tiny 2 ounce PLASTIC containers which is a complete waste of the environment. I'm spending $420 a month on this very expensive food trying to feed four cats in two-ounce containers, but my biggest concern is the dozens of plastic containers that I throw away. In comparison, Friskies wet food costs about 0.9 cents an ounce, while Nutro costs 0.57 cents…

Recipe and packaging changes make me a dissatisfied customer

My cat loves Nutro wet food with turkey in gravy, has been eating it for over a year and never stops licking his bowl. When I ordered them again, I found that they were no longer made and that these portion control types were "most similar" to what Nutro had previously sold, so I switched to them. It's been a week and something has definitely changed with this recipe. Basically I have to beg my cat to eat it, now she won't even eat half the bowl all day. And on top of that, they've gone from…

Changed recipe, terrible packaging

Hello! We have two cats, Opal and Olive. Unfortunately, Opal is allergic to chicken and fish, making it difficult to find something that she a) can eat and b) will eat. When we discovered your canned turkey feed a few years ago, we were thrilled! Olive doesn't have much of a choice in the matter, but she likes it too. Fast forward to the latest batch we bought. Now in small plastic jars with peel-off foil lids. Are. abominable. Peel-off lids are attached to plastic containers with 8000 horse…

It doesn't vomit so it's great but every time I open it it squirts me

So if you have a picky cat with a sensitive digestive system and were devastated than Nutro his cans ran out of food, we're in the same boat. As for the new version, two of the four flavors I tried didn't make her vomit. Sometimes she will eat it enthusiastically, sometimes she will wrinkle her nose and stuff herself with kibble instead. Packaging is a real problem for me. First off, this is definitely a step in the wrong direction in terms of sustainability, although you could argue that in…
