The rail is bent at one end

8ft rails are hard to find online and this seems to be one of the best values. Well connected with my lights and floating dome rear. However, the track wasn't exactly straight - it curved towards the wall at the other end and didn't bend back easily. I'm not sure if this is a shipping issue or a manufacturing defect.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Some issues

Good combo with cord entry

Hard to say as this is the first rail I've bought but it feels a little flimsy. On the other hand, I was excited to finally develop a "system" of parts - rails, railheads and lamps - that I knew would work together. The pairing with the power cord in this product description was the last part that got my grow light system up and running as I want the light to be turned on by a timer and not a wall switch.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Simply good. Note: Power adapter is not included!

Bought two of these for the garage. They're easy to install, although I replaced the mounting hardware with a set of 6 threaded drywall anchors, which I find are easier to work with and reasonably strong (each holds 65 pounds). I deducted a star because I found the fastening screws annoying and also because there is no power supply unit. The description says the latter, but I didn't notice it before I ordered it.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

The cable is NOT longer than 15 feet!

This live end cable is just ok, pretty average Chicom crap. The problem is a bad description. The length is never specified. The black one from the same manufacturer says it's 15 feet, so we can assume the white one is too. NO! 13ft 7in all he has is about 1ft shorter than I need. I bought a 20ft extension, measured, cut and replaced the cord in the block, after that everything worked. Oh, and since it's never listed in the E description, it's for an H-type gauge. Hope this helps other intrepid

Lack of design makes installation a challenge

Although I was able to install this in place of the old lighting system, the method of attaching the canopy to the ceiling mount is difficult and poorly designed. Insert the included screws when the canopy is at a 90 degree angle to open the bracket. One of them rotates the dome at the required angle. The problem is that the screw heads protrude, making it impossible to fully rotate the dome without using significant force to bend the metal mounts to fit over the protruding screw heads. I would

Quality differences

The customer should be aware that there may be problems with this live end cable. After installing it on my track it didn't work. But when I flipped it, literally turned it upside down, the light came on, but only for a moment. I thought something got loose by making the intermittent connection. Luckily, this model comes with a removable cover, and I found that both of the incoming wires weren't properly attached to their respective screw terminals. After reinstalling the wires, the light cameโ€ฆ

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Not sure

Installation guide is incomplete

I think a lot of people had the same problem as me: the trackheads don't light up if you don't install them properly and the installation guide doesn't tell you that in front of you when you head To insert into the slot, you must hold the sliding sleeve and hold it back until you turn your head 90 degrees to lock it. This isn't easy, as the slide ring is difficult to keep off track. If you don't remove the head, it will not make full contact with the copper power strip inside the rail housingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Pretty ok

Very good track easy to use and install

Four foot long Halo style Novo TR120 was great for track lighting. You'll need some sort of end feed to attach it to the end of the track. This turns the strip on. I bought a Nuvo TP169 live end conduit and it worked great. The TP169 snaps onto the end of the TR120 and has wires in the enclosed area where the Romex attaches. The halo rail has two contact tabs on one side of the channel and one on the other side. When inserting the lantern, match the 2-pin side of the lantern to the 2-pinโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • I will add later
