Tiny size equals tiny carrier capacity

I should have taken a closer look at the size of a real canister! It appears to be about 1/4 the capacity of my Marineland 160 and less than half the capacity of my 30 gallon turtle filter. Returned brand new, not even taking everything out of the box as I knew it would not suit my needs. Tiny!

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Requires modification to be silent.

I had to replace the filler plug gasket to make sure it was properly sealed. There's also a length of tubing that goes into the cavity at the top of the filter, which should purge the unit of air while it's running, but it never fully does so. I removed it and everything has been working fine for a few weeks now and is completely silent.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Minor Repairability

Quiet so far good but repackaged

The filter is very quiet and appears to be working well. What I didn't like was simply sent in its own box with no damage protection. It was obviously a repackaged item and was missing the filter bag. Luckily that was all that appeared to be missing and didn't appear to be damaged. One of the blue nuts is stuck in one of the black pipes. Please note this when ordering, it may already be open and items may be missing.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Tradeable

Outstanding: aquarium pumps and filters

Used for a Beta tank (4 gallons, planted, CO2, 7500 LEDs), slight changes, uses a polyfilter over ceramic (biological) filtration, the main difference also regulated the outlet flow. The outlet was also changed, inserted a 3" piece of atomizer tube with connector provided, before inserting I drilled another 3/36 holes in the direction of 360 degrees (12 total). Then connect to the output stream (vertical) and get great tank flow with no destructive high current. Very happy with this filter. 8^}

Pros
  • GOLS certified

  • There are even more interesting options.

Terrible. No pressure, very little entry/exit.

Quiet but very small. I bought this for my Waterbox 16. In my opinion it was NOT worth the money. It's so small that almost no porter can fit in it, and on top of that there was no pressure to drain and fill. This is a very small jet of water. It's like I don't even know if my aquarium is even filtered! I plan on deleting this and just scrapping it and buying another one. I used to have many oases. But much larger canisters. So it's a whole different story. But this little petite one just…

Best filter I have on filter accessories

I buy a new filter with every aquarium installed. These FiltoSmart 100 are my favorite little aquarium filters. They have a nice compact size that can hold a lot of filter material, they have a detachable stand in case you want to put it in a place with less space, you can integrate the head directly into the device and cleaning is easy. I love that there is a knot that connects both pipes and you can twist the knot which releases both pipes and you can remove them together without pouring out…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Is this required for the beta test? Get it and do the following mods.

Purchased specifically for the Betta aquarium. Works great, very quiet and keeps the water in the aquarium clean. The design is somewhat delayed and this causes the ceramic rings to become covered with dirt. However, I have modified it to suit the needs of my beta, which addresses this and other issues. I 3D printed a small nozzle for the input side to add a sponge for the coarse filter. I also put some filter floss over the ceramic rings to further purify the water. This reduces water flow…

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Almost never

It's not bad, just full of inconveniences.

It's a bit bulky. The pipe is rigid and too short, making it difficult to attach the inlet and outlet pipes inside the tank. The filtration stages are in the wrong order - instead of flowing through the biomedium last, the water flows through it first and then the mechanical medium - this is an illogical setup that will clog the biomedium. I fixed this by placing two aquaclear 20 sponges on top of the biomedium. However, essentially all filtration takes place in one chamber, thereby…

Good filtration for my 37 gallon tank

So overall it's a pretty great filtration system and that's about all I have to say. I'm pretty sure it matters how short your hoses are. from the actual top of the tank as shown in the manual but mine is at the maximum distance from the top of the tank and I was able to purge almost all of the air from the system but it took about half an hour. up to 45 minutes to fully operate the system at maximum performance. Which doesn't really matter, it's just taken a lot of time to get to this point…
