I am renovating a bathroom and installing a new shower tray. This drain works great, I just applied silicone to the inside edge of the base, installed this drain and tightened the nut on the back. Then I installed the base and placed it on a 2" PVC pipe. Use the included tool to tighten the inside of this drain and it will swell with a rubber O-ring on the PVC pipe for a perfect seal .

Save your time, buy this before you mess with a standard drain

After trying to install a drain on a prefabricated standing shower (mustee) I got fed up Playing around with them strange drain that required me to prep and install PVC before inserting it into the shower drain pan. I went online and bought this (how did we live before the 2 day delivery?) and was able to put the PVC in the P-trap and just tighten the top. An absolute must for pre-built setups, save yourself the trouble of fumbling around with something else and get this to keep your sanity.

Customization O-Ring

This drain is exactly what I needed with a fiberglass pan and 2" drain pipe. The hole for the drain pipe was flush with the plywood floor. What is missing here are helpful instructions. They don't explain that a flat strip of metal is used around the inside diameter of this drain to adjust the size of the rubber compression pad hole. First, from the top of the drain, take a medium-sized screwdriver and loosen (counter-clockwise) the sealing clamp ring as you mount the drain onto the pipe. Then,

Great Product - Sink & Bathtub Accessory

Great Product - Installs easily and first time with the included 'wrench' on the 2" ABS riser seal (tightening clockwise from top with large screwdriver in center key slot expands seal to pipe). The riser does not require sealant. The instructions say silicone sealant between the drain body and the shower tray - it works. Many plumbers advise using plumbers. In my experience either will do as the mating surfaces with the large nut on the underside are well smooth/tight. Note. The rubber andโ€ฆ

Probably the simplest shower channel assembly

5 stars all round; I wasn't aware that this drain had a fixture for connecting the drain pipe itself, but the instructions in the box made it clear and explained how easy it was to set up. It was a pleasant surprise; no additional glue or hardware required. Simply insert the tube from below, tighten with a small metal tool with a screwdriver according to the instructions, done. 2 inches in diameter so I had plenty of room to work. That was easy as it was a very new setup. I simply put the tubโ€ฆ

Great for concrete slabs - no glue required

Perfect for slab installation as you don't have to glue anything to the PVC pipe (so you don't have to dig concrete if you do that want to change later). The interior is rubber and uses a compression fit around a PVC tube. You don't need to prime/glue any parts onto the PVC. You simply remove the plastic nut from below, insert it into the shower tray from above and the nut on top from below and tighten. It then sits on top of a PVC tube, and the rubber inside forms a compression seal around the
