Works great on tube fittings

This worked great to fix my (circa 1890, 130 year old) rusted 4" cast iron flange. I measured an inside diameter of about 3.8 inches; I had to do a little work with a chisel and wire brush in a drill press to remove rust and scale, and then it definitely stood up. The old flange top was almost flush but just above the finished floor; The new flange top with this one installed was about 1/4" or 3/8" above the finished floor. The Sani-Seal foam ring I bought didn't fit this new flange height, but

1 year later no leaks - still works great!

Long story short, I had to remodel my stud house in the last 18 months. grrr. I'm a small nurse, NOT a general contractor! In deciding which items to buy over the last year and a half I did a little research, read reviews and also learned the names of brands and why some of them are better than others. After about a week of use (the toilet was pulling back and forth with the bolts in the PVC flange, those bolts broke in the flange. I had to remove the Oatey flange and put a replacement in - I found the Oatey twist and install the PVC in a local shop because I needed it immediately. The PVC flange can't take much torque and like many PVC flanges must have a steel ring. If…

Fixed my problem in Pipes, Fittings & Accessories

Well there was a wobbly toilet, wanted to tighten the bolts but never did, pulled them out to find the broken flange. Metal pipe installed in a concrete foundation, not many repair options. This seemed like the only real "do-it-yourself" option. Ordered, arrived, installed (easy install, just cleaned the inside of the power tube, I used a spoked wheel) Push down on the fitting, make sure it's level and at the right height, and tighten the 3 screws a little at a time until it stops. Put on the…
