I chose this one because the feed needs to float to the top. So I wanted something to keep the feed in one part of the tank and not all over it. I can say it works very well, after a day or so the fish know where the food will be and they regularly check for the remains of the crowd when it is time to feed. This feeder has a very poor design. The plastic stick just sticks into the station's foam, but you have to push it all the way through the foam to make it hold. The pre-punched hole is small and insufficient. Also, there is no connection where the pole is attached to either a suction cup or a foam ring to raise and lower it depending on the water level. Also, the plastic wrap doesn't fit properly at all and just falls off the top very easily. Which I don't see as a problem unless it's…

Suitable for hand feeding ONLY. If, like me, you use an automatic feeder and/or use some sort of controller to stop the reverse pump before feeding, this is not for you. The ring is just foam and the suction cup is attached to it with a 3" or 4" plastic rod - DOES NOT ROTATE.
