Bought two to remove a rusty top nut on a shock absorber. The weak screw guide engaged on both at the same time and then rotated as it tried to rotate the wedge. Both went in the garbage, first a Dremel cutting wheel had to be bought.
Tool works fine after a few touches - setscrew broke on first use disassembled and screwed the tool stop to the hilt with WD40 cleaned thread/port lubricated setscrew replaced now it works fine - cheap so doesn't seem like a big deal to be pretty well done, just a bit crude.
The nut splitter has a set screw that keeps the riving knife in line. It only took one try before the set screw broke and allowed the wedge to turn. Now I have to keep the wedge upright while tightening it, which isn't that easy. It still splits the nut so I can't say it doesn't work. I can probably get a replacement set screw or ship it with a lifetime warranty. If you need such a tool it will work, but you might get frustrated if the set screw breaks.
