Works, nothing wrong with that. The only problem for me was the lack of configuration, specifically the time to shutdown. There are other options for the same money that have potentiometers to change sensitivity and duration that can also be modified for 3V operation.

I've included some photos of a project I'm working on using a mechanical trigger switch to turn on the 12vdc lights in a gun cabinet. This IR sensor is also connected to the vault. So if I leave the door open for a long time, I won't run out of battery in a day or whatever. I found the IR sensor very easy to use.
