OLOy DDR4 RAM 16GB (1X16GB) 2666 MHz CL16 1 Review

I bought these after finding a defective DIMM chip on arrival from a reputable memory manufacturer (see my other reviews to see which brand) I chose from a new PC build (2020 gigabyte motherboard, 2020 Intel processor). Brand memory showed up as 2400MHz memory in my BIOS. I had to enable the memory overclocking feature for the brand name to show up and work as sold (2666MHz). It seemed so difficult to find a single 16GB RAM drive on the list. Most offers have 2x 8 GB, 16 GB total or 2x 16 GB. In any case, it was exactly what I needed. Insertion was easy. As soon as I restarted my computer, the additional memory was recognized immediately. My Steam games run smoothly, even with 8 GB they didn't lag. However, it's nice to have more requirements.

This memory conforms to JEDEC specifications and does not contain XMP profiles. So the timings are a bit slack compared to other memories with similar speeds, but it also runs at 1.2V compared to the 1.35V you'd expect from memories with faster timings. I didn't spend time tweaking the settings to get a more accurate time as it didn't come with the computer that needed it. I bought them for a new PC build and they worked for about 6 months when I started getting random BSOD traps and app crashes from Firefox and Bitdefender . I ran memtest86 and found errors on a flash drive. I contacted OLOY tech support and they issued me an RMA which took about a month to get a replacement.
