Very surprised by the high ratings. The lens is very well built and looks very cool, but the photos fall far short of my humble expectations. The only reason I bought the EPL-7 was to have a compact lens and body. I've attached some example images of grass on the road taken with a Canon 'nifty five' plastic lens (A), an iPhone 6S (B) and this lens (C). I really, really wanted to love this lens.

I have received the import model in silver. Came in a completely nondescript box but was very well bubble wrapped and works in every way. It was missing the little protective plastic sticker that comes with most lens caps, but given that most people give it up within 2.8 seconds of opening it really didn't go unnoticed. Lens suddenly stopped working after only 8 months of use. This is the third time this has happened to me with an M.Zuiko Olympus lens in recent years - the problem is always the same: a rusted wire inside the lens has stopped transmitting an electrical signal and thus the lens cannot focus.
