🎙️ Efficient Transcription Made Easy: Olympus AS-2400 PC Transcription Kit 147588 Review

I used to print meeting minutes from digital recordings of project meetings. I was able to easily download the software that came with this kit and after using the settings to configure it to my liking, I imported the recording into the software, connected the footswitch and headphones and simply transcribed it. The software is fairly intuitive and tracks whether you've transcribed a recording and allows you to make some audio quality adjustments, rewind the duration when you take your foot off

In the end I returned this product because the files I had to use were not compatible with the software and the pedal was not compatible with any other software so all was useless. The software only supports a few types of audio files and does not support videos. I was working on focus group transcription of at least 6 people so I had to use the video as a reference. Olympus doesn't even sell video software. Olympus uses proprietary coding to communicate between the pedal and the computer…

This is a good quality product but my only disappointment is with the software. The default DSS player transcribes only a few file types, not all. I wish there was a software utility that would allow you to use or convert all audio dictation files, especially the ones I need frequently (*.dct). I needed a reliable system to transcribe DS2/DSS Pro digital audio dictation files. I tried NCH's Express Scribe Pro but it was riddled with bugs and kept crashing on my DS2 leaving me completely…
