Wow! Excellent registrar.

My wife and I have used this recorder a lot over the past few months. The sound quality (in high quality stereo mode) is amazing. The lectures are crystal clear, the singing quality is excellent.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Can be damaged

LOVE LOVE LOVE!

This little thing is just great! It does everything I wanted and more. I use it to record choir rehearsals, then download them to my computer and email the files to other choir members or burn CDs. GREAT TOOL!

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • Some bugs

this is a very useful tool!

As a former police officer and now a lawyer, this is a very useful tool! With the mic removed, record in your pants/suit pocket, or simply slip the recorder into your shirt pocket and turn it on. He has never let me down! I just download the voice files to my laptop to save and play in court. The included USB port makes everything child's play.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Good device but eats batteries

I have two of these devices, one for each teenager. They record well, although holding them while recording introduces extra noise. They work like any other USB stick and MP3 player, no problem. The big problem is that they drain batteries quickly. A WS-310 uses a AAA battery every 6 hours and I swap in new Duracells - rechargeable batteries last less than half that time. Really good but make sure you have lots of AAA items and carry extras.

Pros
  • Sturdy build
Cons
  • Good but not great

Nice little thing: Digital Voice Recorders

I was a little hesitant to buy this recorder at first as it records in WMA format. Personally I don't like this format as I work a lot with sound (I like wav or mp3). But I couldn't find anything else that could record for a long time and wasn't VERY expensive. So I just went with them. It worked great for what I used it for: college lessons, kidnapping a friend and taking him to his birthday party, political talks among friends, self dictation, band concert (tweaked the audio program and it…

Pros
  • Wide Range
Cons
  • Too Long to Wait

Fine recorder -- with multiple negatives

Olympus WS-310m is a winner! I used to have an Olympus DM-10 (and my son has a DM-20). Both are solid performers, well built. But unfortunately I lost my DM-10 a year ago and decided to replace it with a WS-310m and I have not been disappointed. The Electronics 310m has essentially the same features as the DM-10 but is physically smaller. The device connects via USB (not sure if it's USB2) in a tricky way, since the USB connector is built into it, no cable needed! A significantly larger storage

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Expensive
