Good replacement for Jeep Cherokee XJ.

This part bolted directly onto my 1997 Jeep Cherokee Sport. It's a hassle to get and change, but once installed everything works fine. My gear bolts were loose and missing, so I bent the factory flex plate. Got up without vibration. Not a bad price for what it is.

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Miscut at the factory

Ordered for a 99 Cherokee/XJ. The screw holes did not line up with the bolts next to the crank! The studs are 6 and only go in one direction. We turned it around all 6 bolts and each time one or more of the bolt holes moved 0.25" to 0.5"! I ordered a Mopar shield from the dealer and it fitted perfectly. After leveling, the Omix is definitely out of spec. A google search shows that this is a common problem with Omix and ATP.

Pros
  • Replacement parts
Cons
  • Will not fit all

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Some modifications may be required to fit.

As mentioned in other reviews, there was an issue with inaccurate screw placement. It was necessary to extend a hole about 1/16 inch to fit the last screw. The rest is OK. works and is no longer available from mopar so not many options left. You might get lucky and get one with the correct lace pattern, but I haven't, so I'm deducting a few stars for that.

Pros
  • Flexplates
Cons
  • Discontinued
