Omnigrid R1 1 Inch 6 Inch Ruler Review

I love the Omnigrid rulers. They're accurate and easy to read, but I think the new "neon" makes it hard to read. I only use this brand for my quilts whenever possible, as different brands have very small differences in the measurement steps, which can lead to many errors with a large number of products. This particular 1x6 inch sits next to my sewing machine.

The thickness of this handy little tool was surprising and unexpected. I like him! I use it in the kitchen for baking. If your recipe calls for tortilla dough to be rolled out to a thickness of 1 inch, or if another recipe gives measurements as a guide, you get it! There's no bend, so it doesn't flex or give you ambiguous measurement. Very comfortable and unlike anything else I've seen.

I had one of these rulers for a number of years and lost it on vacation somewhere in the chaos of my sewing workshop and lost it immediately. I use it for so many things! I'm a quilter so this comes in handy for cutting small pieces of fabric. I sew dresses and they are perfect for measuring the hem. I use the end to press on the seams to iron them.
