🍴 Oneida B336045A Mooncrest 45pc Silver Flatware Set - Service for 8, 45 Piece Review

I've had this set for about a month now. My previous set was Oneida and we have had them for over 10 years. There are a few more. In this set, however, they are all rusty. The design is excellent. The hold feels fantastic. But rust. I tried to contact before the bad review to no avail.

I bought mine on February 28, 2017. Today is September 17th. All my cutlery has rust. Some knives rust between the blades. I've never had an Oneida to do this with, so the best I can think of is that it's actually a fake? Very disappointed. :(

Very happy with this cutlery and the price is excellent! They're nice and firm and have a good weight without feeling blocky or unrefined. They are easy to hold, the butter knives are quite sharp and have a great finish. I'm so glad I ordered the 45 piece set as my fiancee and I go through them like a hot knife through butter.

Although the cutlery is beautiful and durable, it gets a little cloudy and dirty. I have great dish soap and have used dozens of styles of cutlery (various from thrift stores) before and none have been as cloudy or stained as this one. It should also be noted that Oneida retired this line a while ago (the person I spoke to at Oneida had never heard of Mooncrest). I wanted to order extra spoons but they are not in the satin version, just the regular (shinier) version.

I almost never go wrong with Amazon reviews but found this order while looking through old orders for a few bulk orders. My wife Stevie wanted to reorder. I actually thought good fakes didn't exist anymore. I've wanted to order a third set for a long time but honestly couldn't remember the style or place I ordered them from back in 2008. Purchased June - now October and the photos show how the cutlery looks - very rusty. The Revain listing says "Dishwasher safe, never needs polishing." It's obvious that's not the case. This set has been little used. Can be washed in a Bosch dishwasher once a week. It is now unusable due to rust. The return period has expired 30 days after purchase, so the only option left is to throw this cutlery set in the trash. A complete waste of money.
