Type of review

I bought 14 for my 8 year old son and it fits just how he wants his rash guard. He prefers a bit of freedom of movement without being baggy. We even tried putting a strip of sunscreen on its back to see if it offered protection and it passed a (very informal) test! Good product.

Pros
  • Good material but could be thicker for a better feel and fit.
Cons
  • Doesn't fit, never used, waste of money

Works little! good for me

The item is very small and had to be returned. Rashguards were meant to fit close to the body, but that was a limitation and sleeves were 1 1/2 inches shorter. My daughter is 10 years old and is in the 65th percentile for height and 30th percentile for weight. She usually wears a size 8 to 10 but this 10 was too small.

Pros
  • The rashguard is of good quality and color. My little son is a size 3T and 26 pounds and I bought a size 4.
Cons
  • The design is good. But the size is too small. Even though I bought 14 like other reviews it was crowded.

Color bleeds in my head

Blue color shimmers on white long sleeves. I have a pair of O'Neill rash guards and this is the first time this has happened so the quality is definitely poor.

Pros
  • Lightweight and flexible, improves mobility and flexibility
Cons
  • Some children find long sleeves uncomfortable and prefer short sleeves.

Good rashguard, suits me

Perfect for my boys at the beach! Should have ordered at least 2 sizes. I understand it has to be tight, but hello, you have to be able to put it on and take it off.

Pros
  • Small but great beach shelter
Cons
  • This size 14/16 is very small - and too small for my son.

Turns out 3 sizes smaller - my new rating

Too small for my son. We choose the size 12 he wears from other brands but the size 12 delivered was equivalent to a size 8. Had to return.

Pros
  • I bought size 10 for my 6 year old boy, it fits his 3 year old sister perfectly.
Cons
  • only very small..

Broke very easily.

I bought this for my 8 year old and had to give it to my 6 year old because the size is too big. Took about three socks before a hole formed in the back of the neck.

Pros
  • This is a great way to protect my son from sunburn.
Cons
  • it was VERY small and not very big! I know it's supposed to be tight but it's very tight and my son is very small11

Very small - my new review

I give 3 stars because of the quality, the fabric is very soft but the size runs small. My son usually wears a size 10 or 12, I ordered a size 14 and it was very tight. He is also very skinny at 4'9" and about 70 pounds (wet). He is very skinny for his age and not yet fit for it. My other son who is 7 years old fits better but the sleeves were too long.

Pros
  • Good
Cons
  • The quality is good but the size seems to be a 12 and not a 16!

A little feedback from me

Great quality, easy to wash but runs small, consider a size or two larger. Was bought for my son who wears a 7, I bought an 8 and he was comfortable

Pros
  • Long sleeves provide additional arm protection.
Cons
  • The design of the rashguard may not be compatible with other swimwear, limiting its versatility.

Too bad I didn't read the reviews.

size does not fit. I bought size 10 for a 10 year old and I think it would fit my son when he is 5 years old. Skip this product as its sizes do not match any other clothing company.

Pros
  • Everything OK.
Cons
  • Too small. It was 14 for the average 9 year old

TOO SMALL best in my rating

Agree with other reviewers that this rash guard is too small. My son is 10 years old and his height and weight is less than 25% for his age and size 12 is too small. The sleeves were 4 inches shorter. It looks like it would fit my 6 year old who is average for his age. I have to say the return process was easy (an extra star for that)

Pros
  • Constructed from high quality materials for durability and long service life
Cons
  • The rashguard may be too tight for some children, causing discomfort and restricting movement during activities.

My review is short

Extremely disappointed with the size. I ordered and replaced the same product twice. Still not satisfied with the last size. Always undersized. My 9 year old needs a size 16 (last size). He is skinny and 4.9 feet tall.

Pros
  • I think size 12 is too small for my 9 year old boy.
Cons
  • Looked really small

Nice shirts for kids!

The only problem is the size! O'Neil has different sizes for children, so if your child wears a size 4, you should buy a size 6! Everything else is just great!

Pros
  • I ordered a size 10 for my 7 year old and it fits well, a bit tight.
Cons
  • Should have read the other reviews before ordering. What we received was very small and we are sending it back.

Shirts don't fit well.

Bought two identical rashguards. Both have been worn the same number of times and have only been washed with the matching O'Neill swim trunks. A shirt now looks purple. Both shirts were worn for a week and the inscriptions are erased. Very disappointed with the quality of these t-shirts.

Pros
  • Excellent protection, the size is small.
Cons
  • too small

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Size 16 was tiny like a 10 or 12.

Update: We found O'Neill Adult Medium to be suitable for my 16 year old. After checking the measurements against the sizing chart, I ordered a size 16 for a 16 year old and we couldn't even put them on. I'm not new to rashguards, I know rashguards should be nice and comfortable. Even swimwear should have some affinity with them. But these shirts are so far gone it's not even funny. I thought it might be fake! Comfortable but can't fit your head through the neck opening or long sleeves that…

Pros
  • Stylish design with a combination of turquoise, black and cool gray tones.
Cons
  • The turquoise/black/cool gray color combination may not appeal to all children and may limit their desire to wear it.

Bad size. in my rating

Apparently they only make it in one size and just change the labels. I bought it 4 sizes bigger than my son wears and it was so tight he couldn't breathe like the previous one I bought 2 sizes bigger. Great return, cho.

Pros
  • Breathable material reduces perspiration and ensures a comfortable fit.
Cons
  • At lower water and air temperatures, the rashguard may not provide enough warmth.

My son is 7 years old and has no fat, he loves to swim but he is very cold so I bought him this shirt and it helped a lot, he took swimming lessons and wasn't that cold.

Pros
  • They like it very much
Cons
  • I read the reviews and ordered a few sizes up but it still runs small.

Perfect for my son for a week at the beach

I'm really glad I bought the Rash Long Sleeve Crews! I didn't have to worry so much about having to constantly put sunscreen on my grade school kid while we were at the beach in Destin. I think they run small so I ordered a size up. it was still snug but not too tight. Ideal. I will buy again next year!

Pros
  • Fits great, looks great. Protects against the sun. Simply amazing.
Cons
  • at 14 he was too small. fits more like 10/12. I sent it back with no problems and my money was refunded.

But I am very disappointed in its quality.

Received today along with two other rash guards. But I am very disappointed with the quality! There was a lot of lint on the front of the fabric and many parts appeared to have faded to a light yellow color (might have stains)! The wipes didn't even have a tag while the other two products had a tag. I have no choice but to say this is second hand! Please answer this question as soon as possible.

Pros
  • very good
Cons
  • Very pretty but too tight, I recommend you buy 3 sizes bigger.

The quality seems good, the stitching seems to be holding up

It does exactly what I hoped it would, the quality seems good, the stitching is holding up. Fits about as expected. My daughter feels very comfortable in a shirt

Pros
  • Genuinely marketed by the respected and trusted O'Neill brand.
Cons
  • The rash guard may not be suitable for high contact water sports such as surfing or wakeboarding as it may snag on equipment or be uncomfortable when moving.

Grace likes it in my review.

I bought a size 6 for my 4 year old daughter Grace and she loves it. She always wants to wear it while boating and it's great for blocking the sun. I am very satisfied or should I say Grace loves it

Pros
  • Easy care and washable
Cons
  • The rashguard material can take longer to dry than other swimwear options, causing discomfort when not in the water for an extended period of time.
