I bought this because it was cute and holds a lot, but if you put real ice in it as shown in the photos it starts to leak after a few minutes. Then it keeps flowing. Disappointed as I was hoping to get this cool for eating and drinking on day kayaking river adventures but need to find something that holds the ice better. You can't even take him on a hike because cold water keeps dripping on his feet.

Cope with overpacking like a champ! External compressed and uncompressed sections are very useful. But remember there is a large expandable compartment inside with no dividers - I would give it 5 stars if there was any way to separate refrigerated storage from say clothes. Ideally, you want separate bins for different types of items. On the other hand, a compartment offers maximum flexibility in use. Overall highly recommended.

We specifically ordered this backpack for a trip to the zoo where we wanted to take food away and keep it cool.
