Great windscreen for body panels and frames

I find the Optimus Clip-on windscreen a must for owners of the Optimus Crux Weekend HE cooking system. It fits in and "completes" the system. The cooking system slides right into the pocket when powered on. If you have Crux Weekend HE I would highly recommend it. ;)

  • Something special
Cons
  • Some little things

Works well, light weight, good value for money.

The Optimus windscreen fits snugly on isobutane canisters and keeps out the wind well. It also fits nicely in my 750ml Toaks pot, so it packs easily into my backpack, adds little weight, takes up little space, yet saves fuel and boils water faster and more efficiently. Nothing but good news on this article.

  • understandable even for the old ones

Works very well and only adds a few ounces.

It mounts on the outside of my 750 pot kit so it only adds a few ounces overall and does what it's supposed to. Well done. So it doesn't take up space in my backpack and can even be used with a spirit lamp. I use it with a BRS stove and they are more sensitive to wind than others. This ultimately saves me burn time and extends the life of the canister.

  • Done
Cons
  • Mostly fine, but...

Perfect for my needs. Minimalist stove.

For me, this is a pleasant find. I love how it's constructed with a spring clip between the two halves to give them some tension when attached to the canister. I think that will give it durability, which was a concern for me. It attaches securely to the canister and you need to keep in mind the size of your stove and pots. I paired this with a minimalist GSI mug/pan and a small titanium plate that fits in the pan. This comfort pot fits perfectly on the windshield like it was made for it.

  • Pleasant

A+++++ Windbreak / Stable / Easy to pack / Looks great!

Used "Optimus" while hiking in the high country of Mount Whitney (Sequoias/Inyo) for 5 days. Worked wonderfully and even gave my "GSI SI Outdoors Pinnacle Soloist" more stability. Worth every penny for the price. AND YES. worked great with a decent amount of wind. The clips on the canister neck do not wobble. It even looks great! I leave it wrapped around my pan and pack it up like it's one piece. I use it with my "Ultralight 3.9 oz Piezo Ignited Travel Canister (Silver Slab and Orange Box)"โ€ฆ

Great if you have the right size pot and flat stove

Small, simple and efficient. It's not as light as titanium, but it doesn't cost as much either. It flexes and attaches to the fuel canister neck and provides an effective windbreak for most low profile stoves without the risk of the fuel canister falling or overheating. Make sure the "radius" of this windshield works with your pot/boiler system. I use it with an Optimus Terra Weekend HE (0.95L) pot and it fits perfectly (because it was designed for this pot) and should work well with pots ofโ€ฆ
