Will not work past warranty

I bought this a few years ago (particularly in 2017) and have rarely used it in subsequent years, usually only plugged in when I needed to read the drive away from another system on my main PC without opening the case, connecting power and SATA etc. I recently had to use it again only to find that although Windows recognized the drive install location, the drive was not connected. I thought it might be an issue with the drive itself, so I tried three other known good drives (a 3.5 and a 2.5 HDD

Any plan that expects high performance from an SDD device may need to be adjusted.

ORICO 4-Bay External Hard Drive Dock is the best you can find for sliced bread. It offers fast USB 3.0 access to 4 physical devices from my PC. A small problem can occur if the hard drives involved are partitioned. Windows 10 can get confused during mounting and users get confused when using it. A very well defined naming convention helps reduce this confusion. The duplicate/clone feature is a bonus. I haven't tested the clone function. Zero Guarantee Don't buy

The device died after a year and took my hard drive's MBR with it. Wrote them a letter - no reply. Just wrote them a second letter. The hotline number on their website is area code 400. I believe it's somewhere near the Antares Nebula (at least that's what it sounded like when I called). Buy this device and it can last a week, maybe a month, maybe. year, then answer this one. The absolute worst product I have ever used

I am a computer engineer and bought this product to use when I call customer service. It's a standalone device, so in theory it would be very useful when I'm out in the field. But this was not the case. The device did not work as advertised. The status lights on the device never showed any hard drive activity.
