There is no technical support system.

No tech support system so you are on your own I could not find any other retailers who could help you unless you buy from them.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Expensive well built unit but LACK of functionality

Only after I complete the installation. I find that these devices lack some basic features. There is no way to adjust the output current! When the device is switched on, it always operates at the maximum rated current when the load requires it. This then puts a tremendous strain on the source, sometimes more than the source can handle. Other manufacturers have the 1/2 load current option. I expected a full-fledged, full-featured device from these guys.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • I have no bad feelings about it, everything is fine

Renogy makes the product better

The battery presets are completely out of date and with the latest firmware update. The maximum voltage setting only supports LiFePO4, not LiIon like Lithium Cobalt Oxide cells. I love Victron products, but in this case Renogy makes a much better product that works with both batteries (starter and home), smart alternator detection, and an MPPT solar charge controller for less than $200. I'm sure Victron will eventually catch up. Meanwhile, Renogy has the best product!

Works great, easy to install and set up

I replaced another brand's battery with a charger for this and the difference is day and night. Victor does great things! The 18 amp unit was perfect for my small marine diesel to charge two Lifepo 100ah Battleborn batteries in combination with solar. I use mine with a common base as I don't need insulation. Installation was easy and the Victron app is great for configuring and monitoring the unit as well as all other Victron equipment. Highly recommended if you need a lower amp, it works great

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Quality

This purchase was a good decision for me!

So we live on wheels all the time and I installed a complete solar system with approx. 1480 watts on the roof to charge the domestic batteries. This is an RV and if I don't turn on the RV to charge the starter battery which is separate from the house batteries it burns out. I wanted to put a small 100w panel on the roof to run the batteries as a battery charger. Then I came across this product. Household batteries are approximately 90% charged and are being charged. It draws power from theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Ideal for charging a trailer battery from the tow vehicle

You probably already know that the 7-pin hitch connector that comes standard when towing a caravan is useless for charging trailer batteries - given the distance to the tractor when you have a battery trailer You're lucky if you get a trickle charge at best. So you need a DC charger to get the job done and I chose an 18 amp Victron to charge our 100Ah road trailer battery. I connected an 8 gauge hot wire from the tractor battery (Jeep JKUR) back to the hitch, used a couple of 50 amp connectorsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
