Enhance Your Vinyl Sound with Ortofon Replacement Stylus 10 Review

Definitely more than just a subtle upgrade from the stock OM 5 that came with my Ortofon cartridge. It seems to track better. Removing OM 5 and installing OM 10 took about two minutes. No settings required, plug and play.

Bought from Etailz and the pictures speak for themselves! Arrived damaged and completely unusable. Buy somewhere else! Review update: Got a replacement which arrived quickly and was perfect! Works and sounds amazing! Can't explain why the first one came in such bad condition (maybe it was a return). This one was definitely new and I'm very happy with it!

I used an om5 stylus and wanted to upgrade it but didn't spend much money as I use a budget desk. Improved tracking and improvements in bass and mids. The highs are also a bit brighter. I am currently using this on an acrylic disc uturn audio desk, klipsch rbII reference speakers with a marantz 2200b receiver.

I've noticed that there are a number of questions about the difference in sound quality between the om5e and om10 replacement styluses. There are subtle differences between 5e and 10.A. 10 - 1.5 grams; 5e is 1.75 grams tracking force B. The cantilever on the model 10 is thinner than the model 5e, so it's thinner. Although both tips use a bonded shank to hold the diamond tip and use an 8 x 18 micron ellipse, the shank is thinner which allows more vibration to be transmitted to the cantilever…

Bought as a replacement stylus for my Ortofon OM10 Super cartridge. Elliptical Rhombus. Excellent frequency response and channel separation. Only 1.5g of downforce and very little lateral force is required to prevent skidding. Comes in a neat little transparent cylindrical case with a stand for other Ortofon OM needles.
