Great for the thumb.

I'm having trouble with my trigger. This is the second race I've tried and I really like it. This does a really good job of immobilizing the thumb and thumb joint. I like that it doesn't cover the whole palm. I ordered a large one because the last braces I had didn't reach the last knuckle of my thumb. These braces are probably more true to size and I might order a small one. That being said, I can easily make it work for me just by moving the straps and shaping the metal to better suit me.

Pros
  • THUMB AND WRIST SUPPORT FOR DIFFERENT CONDITIONS: De Quervain Syndrome (player's thumb), thumb cramps and other conditions that require thumb and wrist stabilization.
Cons
  • Empty

Too large! for orthotics, splints and braces

. I ordered this and took the recommended size (large for a wrist diameter of 6.7 to 7.5 inches, my wrist is exactly 7.5 inches). He's too big. My thumb slides over this part of the brace and the brace slides up and down my arm. The straps are not elastic so they cannot be stretched for a tighter fit. These are really beautiful braces and if they fit properly I think it will be a good thing. I ordered a new one, small to medium, from 5.9 to 6.7 inches, even though my wrist is 7.5 inches, hoping

Pros
  • INSTANT RELIEF AND COMFORT: The knitted thumb stabilization brace provides instant pain relief and keeps your thumb and wrist in a stable yet comfortable position, allowing you to perform daily activities while healing your thumb.
Cons
  • It was possible to choose a newer model

It is good to immobilize the lower thumb joint but not the upper joint.

This is fine if you want to immobilize the thumb bone or LOWER thumb joint, but not so good if you want to immobilize the smaller, upper joint. Or maybe it's just me because my thumb is longer than most people's. For me, the top Velcro wraps around the knuckle of the top thumb. Ideally I want it to wrap around my thumbnail to immobilize my upper joint (that's where my canine pet tore it and overstretched the tendons). It's lightweight, very well made, easy to put on and take off, and very…

Pros
  • SLIM DESIGN: The slim design and easy donning and doffing allows the orthosis to be worn under normal clothing for long periods of time.
Cons
  • Non-Automatic

This is my third!

OK - much of what is said here is true. These don't last long. Inside is a plastic bracket that keeps your thumb straight. It works really well but the material on the inside cracks after prolonged use. I have tried all of the tendonitis braces sold by Revain and I keep coming back to these. I draw on the computer all day. With these braces and my economical Goldtouch mouse, I can do it. So I don't care that I have to keep changing these braces, the other option would be surgery. So throwing…

Cons

Durability is bad. See photo.

This ORTONYX thumb brace is perfect when you just want to keep your wrist and thumb in a static position. It's not good if you plan to engage in normal activities like holding an object or driving a car. Don't expect to be able to grip even light objects without changing the shape of the orthosis. The metal used to stiffen the brace is too thin for normal use. It flexes slightly with any movement of the hand and I suspect it will eventually tear and break inside (as others have reported and…

Pros
  • 70% Nylon
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Fits freely in hand, hand and finger rests

I was hoping this thumb immobilizer would be nice but even the small size fits too loosely. It's adjustable, but I couldn't get it tight enough. I will use it at night and hope it stabilizes my big toe enough. I can still wiggle my thumb too much.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Nothing here

Nice design BUT NOT SUCCESSFUL! Doesn't rip all the time

This is the lowest rating I've ever given. The design is good but after a day or two of use the metal stabilizing bar curled up making your brace unusable but uncomfortable to wear. The reinforcement must be modified so that it does not bend or compress. See Appendix. I spent $17.

Pros
  • Convenience
Cons
  • Some cons

If you have small hands, this bandage is not for you. The tip of the thumb is too long. Even those who have problems with wrist tendons like me should be aware that the inner seams chafe them. Last but not the least, if you order and need to send them back, you need to pay for the return postage. There is no FREE return for them. That was enough for me not to send them back (I bought two).

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Good for de Quervain's tenosynovitis

If you were either: diagnosed with de Quervain's tenosynovitis by a doctor, or you matched your symptoms and concluded that you had de Quervain -Tenosynovitis have kervae, the brace holds the thumb in place and allows the tendinitis to heal quickly. It's not particularly comfortable to wear, as you have to tighten the brace around your thumb and wrist just enough to completely prevent movement, and the aluminum stabilizer bar can put pressure on your thumb and cause discomfort. However, when…
