The design and quality of the carafe are excellent, but the problem is that the strainer is too wide. I've tried so many different ways to reduce the amount of coffee dust going into my drink, but I just couldn't avoid it with this system. From what I've heard, the Penguin branding system has a finer mesh and reduces this problem. If you want to save $5 and get this, I'm sure you'll be fine. That's annoying, but doesn't stop you from having dust in the brew.

I like the shape of the glass jug and the quality of the perforated stainless steel filter (no mesh)! The downside to this type of brewing system is that the coffee grounds get clogged in the filter and don't float freely in the Pyrex jug or measuring cup like I used to do with cold brew. However, the ease and quickness of pouring brewed coffee in the morning makes this my method of choice now.
