I like the shape of the glass jug and the quality of the perforated stainless steel filter (no mesh)! The downside to this type of brewing system is that the coffee grounds get clogged in the filter and don't float freely in the Pyrex jug or measuring cup like I used to do with cold brew. However, the ease and quickness of pouring brewed coffee in the morning makes this my method of choice now. In fact, I can make two drinks from a cup of ground coffee with no noticeable loss of quality. Since the bottom of the filter is solid and not punctured, I can easily stir it with a chopstick to get water through the coffee grounds at least once every 24 hours. The filter is easy to clean and thin enough to use ground coffee if I want. The silicone on the glass lid and filter makes it easy to remove the filter and put the lid back on to store your brewed coffee in the fridge. Some reviewers complain that the glass breaks easily. It's toughened glass, which means it's less brittle but thin, like any type of laboratory glassware. Therefore, it is important to follow some basic grooming principles. Do not bump or bang the glass against hard surfaces, do not use metal utensils or other objects that may scratch the glass, and avoid sudden changes in temperature. A glass product, no matter how strong, will never be as strong as metal or plastic, so this would be an unrealistic expectation. If you want a worry-free product, buy something else. If you are looking for an attractive and easy-to-use cold brew option, give this one a try.
