I'm so glad I bought this

This product is amazing. Post Covid, too much screen time worries me. My son loves games, but I was looking for something more educational and just as fun. This activity is a lot of fun for him, especially creating his own music. This makes programming, logic and problem solving so much fun. The lessons start out easy and are very well structured. There are so many different lessons and games and everything is easy to use. (Also suitable for parents) This is a useful tool to complement online…

Great introduction to programming for kids

I bought this for my precocious four year old to help him learn the basics of programming. The parts are very high quality and easy to assemble even for a small child. It will take him some time to understand the logic, but it's a good parent-child activity for us. He enjoys making Avby do things in the game, even if it's not exactly what he's supposed to be doing ;). I think that over time he will be able to learn how to create more complex code sequences on his own. This is a great choice for

Got this for a 5 year old who is very interested in assembling/assembling large lego sets and in general very interested in science. He has good concentration for a 5 year old which I think always helps with toys like this. Well, as for the toys, as usual with Osmo, toys for children are of very high quality so the only problem is not losing one of them. As for the games. I majored in engineering in college and had no idea about coding until I had to take a course and learn. Actually, I think…

Excellent learning game, worked great for us

This worked great with my 10 inch kid's 7th gen Fire HD! I had no trouble installing the app or reading snippets of it. She is 8 years old and she liked it, even a simpler game. I think she got interested in coding while playing, but mostly because both of her parents code. She wants to start learning from scratch and then move on to something simple in Python. What would be really cool would be if they had an Osmo app that would also teach you how to fix technical issues! Update: A few months…

If you have a Kids Fire 8 HD, you also need to buy an adapter!

There was nothing in this ad that told me to buy an additional part. If you have a Fire 8 HD, you'll also need to buy the $10 Osmo adapter (that's another orange part that fits over the mirror part). Otherwise you will not be able to play any of the 3 coding games. There are 3 games included in the coding kit and all of them require the Fire 8 HD to be placed horizontally on the base. That means you can't play any of the games until you have a mirror adapter. So I've had this coding starter kit

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No execution

Disappointing and frustrating experience

I had high hopes for the game based on the many great reviews. However, my experience was very disappointing. Several technical issues continued to appear - 1) Avby was not responding to tiles; 2) Avby responded to tiles in the wrong direction; and 3) Avby answered before touching the screen to activate the moves. The troubleshooting steps included restarting the iPad, signing out and signing in to Osmo, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, clearing the mirror, and making sure unused tiles…

  • Very impressive

  • Boring packaging
