It comes with a small backpack so you can take it with you and leave the large bag at the hotel when you leave. I'm glad I waited to review this product. When I first packed it I figured my other Osprey (46) might fit just as well or better in a smaller size. I took this backpack with me in the winter of '16. Over the years he has been with me to the Caribbean, Latin America and Asia as well as many adventures in the USA. While not exactly suited to backcountry tourism, it will do in a pinch. A semi-rigid frame will definitely stand up to a 4 or 5 mile hike, but if you do this all the time you might want to look for something with a better frame. It's convenient to carry, and since you can fasten the straps, it's very convenient for checked baggage.

If you are having trouble deciding between the two and can get this for around the same price as a 55 I would suggest going with this as it has a slightly larger capacity but as some reviewers have already done on Revain and others places have pointed out, you really have to look for 15 liters more.
