Ideal for sports

I am a 5ft 2in female and weigh 125 pounds. Any bag that is longer becomes too big. I only do day hikes so this is perfect. It has the features I really need without spending a ton of money. I don't know how the websites I visited could find a bag that fit my small build.

Pros
  • Easy to apply
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Convenient with extra space

I bought this backpack for my daughter to climb Mount Ranier. It suited her. It's petite, so many of the other backpacks we considered were too big to fit comfortably. There was enough water in the backpack, and there was also plenty of extra space for food and extra clothing.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

The side pocket fits my iPhone Plus easily

I saw a review and wondered why the side pockets have an opening at the top and side. If you're carrying a backpack, it's much easier to reach back and pull your phone out through the access on the side of the bag. They like the backpack, but would like more outside pockets.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Unnecessary features

Good quality well thought out

It was a gift so I have no experience with it but I don't think it was very well thought out. Something illogical is that the two side pockets on the outside of the bag were open at the bottom... I don't see how to use them because whatever you put in there will fall out. If they were sewn on the bottom they could add a cheap water bottle etc, otherwise it looks like a quality product.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Great price

Great backpack for a day hike

Love it! I wanted something for day trips. usually between 1-4 hours. Very convenient! The hydration pack is easy to fill and the mouthpiece is easy to drink. There are no additional pockets except for a mesh pocket in the upper part of the backpack. i.e. if you want to have many different subjects. no bag for you. The bag is large enough to carry enough stuff for a day hike. extra clothing, sunscreen, snacks. and side pockets expand to easily accommodate additional water bottles when needed.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Not bad but...

So uncomfortable!: Sports

This backpack killed my shoulders on a 9 mile hike. There was a lot of scratching. Every time I tried to climb, the magnetic mouthpiece fell out. SUPER annoying when you're out all day. This bag contained everything I needed, but I have never carried a more uncomfortable bag. I wore 4 layers and still managed to rub stains on both shoulders. I could have considered using this backpack for a shorter hike but gosh I'm disappointed! Don't let the aesthetics of this bag get you down. It sucks.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Some issues

TERRIBLE HYDRATION BAG! BACKPACK OK

Over the decades of outdoor recreation, I've had dozens of backpacks. Functionality, durability and above all USER FRIENDLINESS are my main criteria. Overall, while the Osprey Skimmer 16 is a decent everyday backpack for light hiking, I absolutely HATE the HYDRATION BAG SYSTEM. The bag has been redesigned. In the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" category, a zipper over the seam of the bag is not required. OK, I'll live with that. The hose itself CANNOT BE REMOVED EASILY. Whatever happens, justโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Some Flaws
