TERRIBLE HYDRATION BAG! BACKPACK OK

Over the decades of outdoor recreation, I've had dozens of backpacks. Functionality, durability and above all USER FRIENDLINESS are my main criteria. Overall, while the Osprey Skimmer 16 is a decent everyday backpack for light hiking, I absolutely HATE the HYDRATION BAG SYSTEM. The bag has been redesigned. In the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" category, a zipper over the seam of the bag is not required. OK, I'll live with that. The hose itself CANNOT BE REMOVED EASILY. Whatever happens, just click, click! I've spoken on the internet and been advised to just run it under hot water - SERIOUSLY! So after a long day of hiking, skiing, or snowshoeing, I need access to hot running water to properly clean my bag. STUPID. I have good hand strength and without hot running water I can't get the hose out without fear of pulling so hard I rip either the tub or the bag itself. So now I ONLY have an $85 medium daypack with a hydration pouch that I won't be using. I am disappointed and cannot recommend it.
