Great addition for longer runs in warmer months

I know this seems to be sold primarily as a trail running accessory, but I only use it for road running. I rode it 18km. No problem. It's comfortable, not too hot and not too heavy. It cleans easily. Don't forget to deflate before running or you'll hear a lot of sloshing! I do this by turning the hydration pack upside down and sucking out the air before putting it in my pack.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Some flaws

But great vest.

I really liked the style and the multiple pockets. Can carry unsupported running gels and enough water to run about 15 miles. Unfortunately (as already mentioned in other reviews) the size leaves a lot to be desired. At 6'1" and 185 I didn't think I would have such a hard time fitting in. I have the M/L which is the largest on sale and it's too small. I have to return this vest. But if you are smaller I would definitely recommend this as it is well made and works.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Wear and cleaning issues

The sides are rough fabric that protrudes right where your hands pass, so you'll get a blister on longer runs if you don't tape it. Bad design plan for this one. The instructions also say to hand wash, but if you use it for long runs like it's supposed to, it won't do the trick. If you run more than once a week, the work you put into cleaning won't pay off. Obviously, Osprey didn't test this on real runners prior to release.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Not working

A must for long runs

I've tried attaching water bottles to my waist belt but found the splashing uncomfortable. The hydropacks were slightly better but more suited to hiking than running. The Osprey 1.5 had all the features I loved: open pockets for a protein bar, an attached whistle big enough for a water bottle, zippered pockets for keys or a phone, and most importantly, a magnetic bite stop for tucking in close by so you don't have to struggle . The most important lesson is to fill the reservoir and then remove…

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Excellent reusable hydration vest

Running long marathons, this vest was essential for storing fluids and storing gels, keys and my phone. I am a road runner and this vest is perfect for many sports, not just trail running. I used the Osprey Rev 1.5 prior to purchasing this vest and although it looks more like a vest (the Rev 1.5 is more like a backpack of sorts) the front pockets were really helpful allowing me to stuff a lot of gels into the backpack. Bags along with my Samsung S10e. A 1.5L bladder will give you both rebound…

Pros
  • Very good value for money

  • Shortcomings

The perfect vest for long or short runs!

I bought this vest after trying a top brand vest that didn't work for me. What I like about this vest is that it is lightweight and has all the necessary pockets for my use. I used to wear a running belt that could hold a water bottle, cell phone, and garage remote, but after a while, the weight and movement around my waist when running bothered me. So I decided to try a running vest. It works better! I'd rather have some weight on my torso than on my waist. Haven't used the included hydration…

Excellent quality for hydration packs

Update: I've ridden this vest for many hundreds of miles and have WASHED it over a dozen times. When used as intended, your vest will sweat dirty and should stand up to regular, thorough cleaning. I wash in the washing machine in HOT water with a few drops of chlorine bleach. After a dozen cycles, there are NO signs of wear. The pockets are not stretched, the zippers and clasps are fine, the straps and clips are fine. I've put just over 100 miles on this vest, some on the treadmill, some on the
