Review on Optimized for SEO: Osprey Duro 1.5 Running Hydration Vest by Ronggolawe Denney

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent quality for hydration packs

Update: I've ridden this vest for many hundreds of miles and have WASHED it over a dozen times. When used as intended, your vest will sweat dirty and should stand up to regular, thorough cleaning. I wash in the washing machine in HOT water with a few drops of chlorine bleach. After a dozen cycles, there are NO signs of wear. The pockets are not stretched, the zippers and clasps are fine, the straps and clips are fine. I've put just over 100 miles on this vest, some on the treadmill, some on the road. This is my first vest. I ran with a belt at an average burn rate of 75ml of water per mile in temperatures above 70F for almost 20 years. The belts maxed out at 6-8 miles and I now regularly run 10 miles. Any vest will be a drag compared to a belt, but I need at least 1 liter on a regular basis. Go to a good store and try on a few brands. The Osprey is a great backpack for hiking and this vest is no different. Every webbing and pocket feels strong and well-tailored. I'm not concerned about saving 6 ounces on the vest by pouring a pound of water into the vest etc. So far the vest has held in place while running and the workmanship is excellent. I use 2 flexible 450ml bottles in the front and a small MP3 player in the front pocket. I removed my bladder from the back but will experiment with it and report back later this spring. This will be uncomfortable for the first 4 runs; Give it time and experiment with loading in different ways. I eventually learned to "drink on the go" by holding bottles with small rubber bands and squeezing the bottle as I drank. I haven't found a better place for an mp3 player yet, because I don't want to put any pressure on this block when squeezing the bottle. This is a durable vest that I expect will last for many years.

Pros
  • Affordable stretch mesh pocket with dual zip bottom
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something
