The power button turns off instead of staying on.

The switch popped off the first time the blender was turned on. I couldn't get him to stay. Since I refused to glue any part of the brand new mount I sent it back. Two stars for processing.

Doesn't work well

Cheap plastic. I had my great aunt's Easter glass blender for about 30 years until the motor finally gave out. Since it was so well made, I decided to get another Easter blender. This only worked with soft foods. Useless for anything frozen. Oster is clearly NOT the company it used to be.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • High price

Good standard blender for everyday use

This blender was great. We use it every day to make smoothies and it does the job perfectly. There was one reviewer who said the glass was "textured inside" and didn't pour well. Not sure what they mean as the inside of the jar looks smooth and it pours well. If you're looking for a decent blender at a reasonable price for everyday use, this is a good choice. If you're looking for a $500 food processor, this might be the one for you. It's a simple blender that does everything a blender is…

Small appliance disappointment

We bought this Oster blender which was over 50 years old and served us well for many years but eventually died. We chose this one because we could reuse the original glass jar and food processor attachments. The best plans! The new engine is underpowered compared to the old one. It can be dangerous to work with as the switches stay on and when you plug it in it can start working. Although the new blender jar is larger, it doesn't blend ingredients as effectively as the original. The "free" food

Easter is going in the wrong direction!

I bought this blender to replace an Oster that I've used for over 20 years and still works (it was just old and I thought a new one would be better). The new mixer worked fine, with a little less power. But after just one smoothie handle, the black plastic screw at the bottom of the jar broke. This part is a bit thinner and made out of cheaper material than my old blender. I contacted support and they told me they don't have a replacement for this part. It took me a few days to get this…

If you use this product you MUST purchase hearing protection

We have had several Oster blenders over the years and have an older version of this in our country house (it's great although quite old). These blenders have always been durable and excellent and I really appreciate the fact that you can use jars with different models. HOWEVER, it is so horrific that I can hardly find the words to describe it. First, it's unlikely to make a smoothie out of it! Even with an ice blade, it often grinds to a halt when I add protein energy, nuts, and berries to the…
