Everything about this stand is great. He wore 4544

Everything about this stand is amazing. He wore 4544, even the engine was idling. I'm glad I spent the money on it. Since then I've bought many more over-the-counter tools. I'm so glad I didn't buy from the parts store and spend the extra coin.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Older model

Best stand for car lifts, lifts and jacks

Used this stand to mount 440 marine engines in the main saloon on my boat. Very strong, easy to assemble, spins easily after greasing and is virtually bulletproof. Really stands for a 1000lb class motor unlike others I've used. The only thing I would improve is the ball lock pin for the handle that falls out.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Not the best

Fantastic stand: Tools & Equipment

The perfect stand as the armrests are fully adjustable and easily lockable. The pins that keep the engine from turning are perfectly at the angles you need to get to the oil pan and valve cover. and even adjustments in between. You can also lock the wheels so the head doesn't move towards you as you spin.

Pros
  • An absolute legend

Definitely not OTC quality.

I've been a mechanic for over 50 years and have probably used hundreds of over the counter specialty tools made in the USA, they were the industry standard for quality. I bought this Β£1000 OTC motor stand and didn't mind paying more because of the OTC brand. While it's probably twice as strong as any other 1000lb stand, you can say goodbye, it's definitely not OTC standard and quality. Made in China. Very unsatisfied with the quality. The welds are rubbish, hopefully they will hold up to their…

thousand pounds? - Motor lifts and stands

Our old motor stand must have been loaned to someone who never returned it, it was an old ATD, it worked fine. We bought it to see how the quality compares to the cheaper ones. We also bought for about $100. Let me tell you, there is no comparison. The OCT is so tough, rebuilt, that no other engine stand can compare. If you put a cheaper model next to an OTC model with the same weight, you'll think someone's scale is broken! Other engine mounts look like toys. It costs more money, but once you…

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Not as thick as other pickups

Great product, poor packaging/shipping with missing parts

So the product itself is incredibly well made. It can easily support the specified weight and possibly more. The welds are strong, the steel is thicker than the cargo ports, everything is fine. My only complaints are: 1) The box it arrived in was shattered - just too light a package for the weight. Some of it may be a shipper, but it's all been literally glued back together; 2) Because the box was destroyed, not all the parts arrived (in my case the plate that the motor is attached to. The…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers

Powerful, high quality!

This stand is built to last! There's already a cheap Β£1,000 no-name coaster out there and this OTC coaster is no comparison. The OTC stand is larger, better quality and made from a much thicker material. Class 5 gear. I have a Dodge 318 V8 on a cheap stand and it's fine, but I needed a different stand to put a Toyota 2F inline-six on. The inline six is heavier and longer than the 318 and I doubt the other stand would hold it securely. No doubt OTC can handle it. I'll update the review once I've
