Our old motor stand must have been loaned to someone who never returned it, it was an old ATD, it worked fine. We bought it to see how the quality compares to the cheaper ones. We also bought for about $100. Let me tell you, there is no comparison. The OCT is so tough, rebuilt, that no other engine stand can compare. If you put a cheaper model next to an OTC model with the same weight, you'll think someone's scale is broken! Other engine mounts look like toys. It costs more money, but once you get your hands on it, you'll understand why. They build an oil pan to get to the bottom of the cabin. It's also more money than the competition, but again it's a lot more capable and well worth the money. Good thick plastic that won't punch a hole if something falls on it.
